At Home Caregiver (Vernon, TX)
About The Position
Visiting Angels of Wichita Falls is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients in Vernon, Wichita Falls, Seymour, Bowie, Graham, Quanah, and other nearby areas. Caregivers help improve clients’ quality of life and support their wellness according to individualized care plans. The position includes personal care, companionship, household assistance, mobility support, medication reminders, and accompanying clients on errands or appointments. Advanced training opportunities in dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available for caregivers who want to broaden their skills. Shift options include full-time and part-time schedules, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, and short shifts as brief as one hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Training in first aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
- Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

- Interest in broadening skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
- Plan and prepare meals with clients while following dietary constraints.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Report health changes or unusual incidents.
- Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
- Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
- Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
