About The Position

Avenues Home Care of Tennessee is seeking an At Home Caregiver to provide non-medical care to elderly, vulnerable, and disabled clients, often including people unable to care for themselves. Caregivers serve clients in the Northeast Tennessee area from the company’s Johnson City office. The role prioritizes client needs and requires reliable, respectful, and safe care in accordance with each client’s plan of care and company policies. Caregivers assist clients with activities of daily living and other authorized household and personal support. They document and communicate daily activities, promptly report concerns or changes in a client’s condition, and protect confidential information, including information subject to HIPAA regulations. The position requires an established work schedule, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and the ability to meet the job’s physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodations. Full-time, part-time, PRN, and short-shift options are listed, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts offered. Requirements

Nice To Haves

CNA license or alternate experience as a caregiver.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with activities of daily living as specified in their plans of care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, toileting, transferring, eating, and continence care.
Provide medication assistance, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, transportation to and from appointments, and companionship as authorized by the plan of care.
Perform other household tasks specified in the client’s plan of care.
Report daily activities to a supervisor through the agency management system and daily activity logs, using other available communication methods as needed.
Practice safety in all activities involving clients and provide superior care.
Remain alert to potential care concerns or changes in a client’s condition and report suspected abuse or neglect immediately through the proper chain of command.
Maintain timely attendance and report scheduling changes.
Document unusual behavior, events, conditions, or people.
Maintain confidentiality of records, correspondence, and other information, including compliance with company confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.
Attend meetings and in-services as requested and follow company policies and procedures.
Maintain a personal appearance compliant with company policies and dress code.
Report unsafe working conditions and behavior.
Perform other duties as assigned.
