About The Position

A Company Associate delights customers with great food and good vibes. As a primary point of customer contact, the Associate provides a fast, friendly, and efficient experience and consistently delivers quality products in a clean, inviting environment. The role prepares food according to Company recipe standards, supports multiple shop stations, maintains food safety and cleanliness, handles customer orders and concerns, and completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be friendly and customer-service-oriented.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Must maintain neat and clean hygiene.
Ability to handle a knife confidently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
Ability to work as a team player.
Ability to comprehend and communicate in English verbally and in writing sufficiently to perform job responsibilities.
Must represent Company values and demonstrate leadership behaviors and values aligned with the Company.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate and reinforce Company behaviors and values: Great Food, Good Vibes, Achievement, Innovation, Integrity, Teamwork, Community, and Belonging.
Maintain familiarity with the Potbelly brand and its products.
Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, and other finished products efficiently according to Company recipe manual standards.
Comply with health, safety, food safety, cleanliness, and shop security requirements.
Maintain personal hygiene standards, including wearing a clean Company uniform.
Fulfill orders quickly and accurately and act with urgency toward customers.
Engage customers in friendly conversation and provide a welcoming experience.
Handle raw and finished waste according to established procedures.
Restock the food line, chips, and cooler.
Work at multiple stations, including load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front, as directed by a Manager or Shift Leader.
Deliver catering orders according to the Catering Driver and Delivery Agreement.
Prepare meats and cheeses for sandwiches.
If at least 18 years old, use and clean the automatic slicer and manual chicken slicer to prepare food items.
Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, the kitchen, and utensils; take out trash.
Operate the cash register and follow cash-handling procedures, including balancing cash.
Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
Perform other duties as assigned.
