About The Position
Modern Animal is hiring an Associate Veterinarian for its West San Jose location. The company provides general practice veterinary care through a technology-forward model designed to support practitioners, pet owners, and animals. Veterinarians work in warm, modern clinics with in-clinic support and access to a 24/7 virtual care team. Structured schedules assign one flow per shift—exam, urgent, or procedure—and the organization offers customizable onboarding, training, mentorship, continuing education support, and career growth paths. An in-house technology platform is designed to reduce administrative work and simplify record-keeping. The position offers a guaranteed salary, a sign-on bonus, no non-compete agreements, an annual continuing education allowance and paid CE days, paid time off, paid sick time, paid parental leave, paid holidays, health, dental and vision benefits, a 401(k) with company match, access to Spring Health behavioral and mental health support, and a free Modern Animal membership with discounted pet services. An equity grant may also be provided as part of the compensation package. Candidates must have graduated from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completed the requirements to practice veterinary medicine in the United States. An active California veterinary license in good standing, without malpractice or disciplinary actions, is required at the start of employment. The listed base salary range is $161,000–$230,000 USD; actual base pay may vary according to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completed requirements to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
- Active license to practice veterinary medicine in California at the start of employment.
- California veterinary license must be in good standing with no malpractice or disciplinary actions.
