About The Position
IndeVets is seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian for their Williamsburg, VA location. This role offers a unique approach to veterinary medicine, prioritizing veterinarian well-being and work-life balance. Unlike traditional models, IndeVets replaces rigid contracts with sustainable career paths, giving veterinarians control over their schedules and guaranteed income. The position involves working 4-5 days per week, with a dedicated scheduling coordinator building schedules in advance based on veterinarian preferences. Veterinarians will practice across a network of trusted hospital partners, gaining diverse clinical experience. The role emphasizes practicing medicine independently with strong support systems, including medical leadership, mentorship, a community of peers, and access to a veterinary social worker. Opportunities for growth include leadership, exposure to diverse clinical settings, and flexibility to evolve schedules. The model is designed to prevent burnout.
Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent).
- Active license (or ability to obtain).
- DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable).
- 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting.
- Confidence practicing independently.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills.
Nice To Haves
- GP, ER, or urgent care experience.
- Internship training.
