About The Position

As an Associate Manager at J.Crew, you are a key member of the leadership team and help ensure store profitability by building genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement. You provide immediate feedback and coaching to maximize team performance. You own a designated area of the business while stepping into other roles as needed to maintain operational excellence. The position works collaboratively with the Store Director and management team across business operations, team development, customer service, and community engagement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of full-time retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support the brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay current with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Bend, reach, and stretch for product, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds (18 kilos).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Store Director as a shared business owner, contributing across the brand and maximizing profitability.
• Own a designated division of responsibility, such as Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, or Service & Selling.
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
• Support the Store Director with recruiting, training, and associate development.
• Partner with the Store Director and management team to create a collaborative working environment.
• Keep the team on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class customer service.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into a variety of sales-floor roles as needed.
• Provide immediate feedback and coaching to maximize team performance.
