About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Social Work within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at UW-Stevens Point. While there may not be an immediate need, applications are accepted to build a pool of candidates for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for future needs and their application will be kept on file. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment in the following semester. The teaching load ranges from 1-12 credits per semester. While the position is listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Requirements

  • MSW/MSSW from a CSWE accredited program
  • At least two years of post-master’s social work degree practice experience in social work
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Evidence of strong organization skills and effective communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Supply three (3) professional references/one (1) of which being a current or former supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience teaching at a university level
  • Experience with online teaching/learning
  • Preference to supply five (5) professional references/two (2) of which being a current or former supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
