About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting to create a pool of candidates for future part-time Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer opportunities in Criminal Justice/Criminology within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at UW-Stevens Point. Applications are accepted regardless of immediate need. Successful applicants will be considered for future part-time roles on a per-course basis each semester. Teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment in the following semester. The teaching load can range from 1-12 credits per semester. While the position is listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in sociology, criminal justice, criminology, or a related field, from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to effectively instruct and engage with a wide range of students, encompassing diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Supply three (3) professional references/one (1) of which being a current or former supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Experience teaching in multiple modalities, such as in-person, online, and hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
