Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Geography and Geology – School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (Continuous Recruitment)
About The Position
This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions in Geography and Geology within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at UW-Stevens Point. While there may not be an immediate need, applications are accepted to build a pool of candidates for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for roles on a per-course basis each semester. Teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment in subsequent semesters. Teaching loads will vary between 1-12 credits per semester. While the position is listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may become available.
Requirements
- Minimum of Master’s degree in Geography or related field from an accredited college or university
- Experience, interest, and commitment to undergraduate teaching
Nice To Haves
- Earned Doctorate in Geography
- Previous teaching experience, with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory physical geography and upper-division GIS courses (with expertise in ArcGIS Pro)
- Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses
Responsibilities
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
