About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions within the College of Natural Resources at UW-Stevens Point. While there may not be an immediate need, applications are accepted to build a pool of candidates for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for future needs and their application will be kept on file. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment in the following semester. Teaching loads range from 1-12 credits per semester. While the position is listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with relevant experience.
• Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Forestry, Soil & Waste Resources, Wildlife Ecology, Fisheries & Water Resources, and Environmental Education and Interpretation.
• Formal or informal teaching experience, including the delivery of outreach, extension, or similar community-oriented programming.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a terminal degree in a natural resources discipline, OR; Professional experience equivalent to 5 years in one, or a combination, of the following: Employment with a private, public, or non-profit agency whose primary service is to provide education, policy development, management, commercial or other professional services for the following sectors: Forest Management, Environmental Education or Interpretation, Natural Resource Planning, Policy, or Sustainable Energy, Soil, Land, or Waste Management, Wildlife Management or Captive Wildlife, Water Resource Management, Fisheries Management, Paper Science Manufacturing or Chemical/Environmental Engineering
• Teaching experience in a primary or secondary classroom (kindergarten through grade 12) may be considered for instructional assignments related to environmental education.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
