About The Position

This position is for a Graduate Assistant, Research Assistant, or Teaching Assistant within the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. A Graduate Assistant primarily designates a graduate student with instructional responsibilities in a department. A Research Assistant is a graduate student working on a Master's or Ph.D. whose activities directly benefit their course of study and research, applicable to their thesis or dissertation. A Teaching Assistant is a graduate student enrolled in the University of Wisconsin system assigned teaching and related responsibilities under faculty supervision. While listed as 'On Site,' the position may be partially or fully remote, which should be discussed with a faculty advisor. The College of Natural Resources emphasizes real-world, field, lab, and community-based learning, with diverse programs in wildlife, forestry, fisheries, water resources, environmental science, paper science, and chemical engineering. The community includes over 1,500 undergraduate students, 123 faculty and staff, and a global alumni network.

Requirements

• Admitted to a graduate degree program at UW-Stevens Point.
• Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
• For Research Assistant: enrolled for at least 9 graduate credits at the beginning of the academic year or 5 graduate credits during the summer.
• For Graduate Assistant or Teaching Assistant: enrolled for at least 4 graduate credits at the beginning of the academic year or 3 graduate credits during the summer.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment.
• Supply three (3) professional references, one of which must be a current or former supervisor.

Nice To Haves

• Preference to supply five (5) professional references, two of which being current or former supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Instructional responsibilities in an academic department (Graduate Assistant).
• Activities primarily for the benefit of the individual's course of study and research, directly applicable to thesis or dissertation (Research Assistant).
• Teaching and related responsibilities, other than manual or clerical, under faculty supervision (Teaching Assistant).
