About The Position

The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources is recruiting a Research Grants Coordinator to support the development, submission, and administration of sponsored projects across the College. This full-time Administrative Faculty position advances the College’s research mission by helping faculty and staff identify funding opportunities, develop and submit competitive proposals, navigate sponsor requirements, and administer complex grant processes. Serving as a trusted resource and subject matter expert, the coordinator works closely with principal investigators, Sponsored Projects, university offices, funding agencies, and partner institutions to promote efficient and compliant grant administration. The successful candidate will bring strong organizational and communication skills, relevant experience supporting grants or sponsored projects, and the ability to manage multiple detailed assignments in a collaborative academic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience, or Master’s degree and one year of related experience.
  • Related experience: Pre and post award grant activities, related training, budget/account management, etc. or related.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting pre-award or post-award activities in a university, research, government, or nonprofit environment
  • Knowledge of sponsored-project administration, federal Uniform Guidance, and sponsor or institutional compliance requirements
  • Experience developing or reviewing grant proposals, budgets, budget justifications, and related documents

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, sponsors, and other internal and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, private, nonprofit, and other sponsors.
  • Partner with principal investigators, Sponsored Projects, and internal and external stakeholders on complex or collaborative proposals.
  • Develop and review proposal budgets, budget justifications, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Interpret sponsor guidelines and university requirements, identify potential concerns, and coordinate required approvals.
  • Prepare and submit proposal materials using systems such as InfoEd, Grants.gov, Research.gov, NIH ASSIST, and NASA NSPIRES.
  • Assist with continuations, award documents, sponsor reports, post-award requests, and project closeout activities.
  • Identify funding opportunities and maintain proposal resources, templates, and grant-related data.
  • Provide training and guidance to faculty and staff on sponsored-project processes, systems, and requirements.
  • Develop and improve internal procedures that promote efficient and compliant grant administration.
  • Represent the College through research administration committees, work groups, and professional engagement.
