About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Biology within the College of Letters and Science, School of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications to build a pool of candidates for future part-time lecturer opportunities. Upon successful application, candidates will be considered for future needs, with applications kept on file. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment in the following semester. Teaching loads can range from 1-12 credits per semester. While listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Requirements

• Earned the minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, in order to instruct introductory biology laboratory sections.
• Earned the minimum of a master’s degree in biology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, in order to instruct biology courses.
• Eligibility to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment.
• Authorization to work within the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
• Supply three (3) professional references/one (1) of which being a current or former supervisor.

Nice To Haves

• Earned doctorate in Biology or a related discipline.
• Experience in collaborative and/or inclusionary settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success.
• Experience and evidence of success with college level instruction.
• Preference to supply five (5) professional references/two (2) of which being current or former supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
