About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting to create a pool of candidates for future part-time Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer opportunities in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Applicants will be considered for positions as they arise. The role involves teaching one or more courses on a per-course basis each semester, with a teaching load ranging from 1-12 credits per semester. While the position is listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available. The department offers majors in Mathematics, Mathematics with Actuarial Emphasis, and Mathematics for Teacher Certification, serving approximately 65 mathematics majors across three campuses and contributing to the general education program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a related field
  • Relevant work or teaching experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in mathematics
  • Secondary or university-level teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
