About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Geography and Geology within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at UW-Stevens Point. Applications are accepted to create a pool for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for future needs and their application will be on file. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, with teaching hours varying between 1-12 credits. While the position is listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Requirements

• Minimum of Master’s degree in Geography or related field from an accredited college or university
• Experience, interest, and commitment to undergraduate teaching

Nice To Haves

• Earned Doctorate in Geography
• Previous teaching experience, with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory physical geography and upper-division GIS courses (with expertise in ArcGIS Pro)
• Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses

Responsibilities

• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
• Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
