About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Political Science within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at UW-Stevens Point. Applications are accepted to build a pool of candidates for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for future needs on a per-course basis each semester, with no guarantee of assignment in subsequent semesters. The teaching load ranges from 1-12 credits per semester. While listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Requirements

• Minimum of a master's degree in Political Science from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with college level instruction.
• Ability to effectively instruct and engage with a wide range of students, encompassing diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Earned doctorate in Political Science from an accredited college or university. ABD considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to reflective teaching practices.
• Experience with teaching in multiple modalities, such as in-person, online, and hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
• Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
