About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Sales Floor ensures the sales floor is well stocked, organized, clean, and presented according to company standards. The associate interacts with customers, responds to their questions, and provides excellent customer service. Responsibilities also include maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms and supporting other departments when needed. This is a part-time role requiring weekend and evening availability; the schedule may vary and may include holidays and occasional overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Ability to use basic technology to follow company standards.
• Ability to use judgment to assess merchandise quality and value and determine pricing, including researching value when necessary.
• Ability to see color and assess merchandise quality and value.
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described, including frequent lifting and carrying of moderate loads and continuous standing.

Nice To Haves

• Prior visual merchandising experience.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed productivity standards and assigned key performance indicators.
• Price merchandise according to Goodwill standards for quality and value, researching items online or using company tools and standards when needed.
• Keep shelves, racks, and the overall sales floor clean and organized; pick up items and put away merchandise from racks, carts, baskets, returns, and unwanted items.
• Merchandise sales-floor products to standards for category, color, and size, and make decisions about adjusting product placement to improve the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Communicate targeted sales-floor needs to the manager on duty to assist production.
• Provide customer service to customers and staff, follow the 10-foot rule, and answer product questions as needed.
• Rotate or remove old or unsold merchandise from the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Identify and pull E-Commerce products from the sales floor.
• Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and provide backup support as required.
• Maintain the overall cleanliness of the sales floor and restrooms.
