About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier provides welcoming, timely, and professional customer service, assists customers with questions and purchases, and helps maintain a well-stocked, clean, and organized sales floor. The role operates a computer-based point-of-sale system to ensure accurate product pricing and transactions, verifies till counts, and maintains a balanced cash drawer. Associates also support the roundup initiative by engaging customers and explaining the mission it supports, complete opening and closing procedures, follow retail and safety policies, and cross-train or provide backup in other areas as required. Job duties may include additional responsibilities as needed.

This is a part-time position at the Lakeside Store. Availability to work evenings and weekends is a must. The schedule may also include holidays and occasional overtime. The position was posted through 11/2/2026 and pays $16.51 per hour.

Requirements

• Be accurate with numbers and general calculations and understand the value of different coins and U.S. currency.
• Use basic math, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Effectively communicate with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine.
• Withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting for up to eight hours per day.
• Have the ability to see color for accurate transactions.
• Work a varied schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail sales or cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify till counts, process accurate cashier transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based point-of-sale system.
• Engage customers in the roundup initiative and share knowledge of the mission it supports.
• Provide excellent customer service in keeping with company values.
• Assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Keep shelves, racks, the sales floor, point-of-sale area, and restrooms clean, organized, safe, and well stocked.
• Organize merchandise and put away products from racks, carts, or baskets, as well as returned or unwanted items.
• Make customer delight/power hour announcements over the intercom to organize and clean the sales floor.
• Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and provide backup as required.
