About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Customer Host provides a welcoming first impression by greeting customers as they enter the store and thanking them as they leave. The associate responds to customer questions, shares store information, and helps create a positive shopping experience and a safe, welcoming environment. The role also includes checking receipts against purchases as a loss-prevention measure, referring unverified merchandise to the point of sale for assistance, communicating with customers and management to resolve discrepancies, and filing appropriate reports with the Risk department. The associate uses handheld scanners and other technology, including Think Risk, to monitor transactions and report incidents, and follows store policies and safety procedures. Duties may include additional responsibilities as required.

This is a full-time position at the Havana Store, paying $16.51 per hour. A varied schedule may include weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime. The position requires standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail store door attendant experience is a plus.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and thank them as they leave.
• Provide store information, answer questions, offer carts or hand baskets, direct customers, and help manage customer flow.
• Share information about item locations, discounts, and upcoming events.
• Check customer receipts against purchases when customers leave the store.
• Refer merchandise that cannot be validated by a receipt to the point of sale for additional customer service.
• Politely ask customers without a receipt or with an invalid receipt to return to the store for point-of-sale processing.
• Identify discrepancies and communicate with customers and management to resolve problems.
• File appropriate reports with the Risk department.
• Use handheld scanners, devices, computer programs, and Think Risk to monitor transactions or report incidents.
• Observe people and identify potentially suspicious behavior while maintaining a calm demeanor.
• Follow retail center policies and procedures and safety processes.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
