About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Customer Host creates a welcoming first impression by greeting customers as they enter the store and thanking them as they leave. The role involves engaging with customers, providing store information, answering questions, directing customers, offering carts or hand baskets, and helping maintain an organized entrance and positive shopping experience. The Associate also checks receipts as a loss-prevention measure, verifies purchases, refers merchandise that cannot be validated to the point of sale for additional customer service, and politely directs customers with missing or invalid receipts to return to the store for processing. The role includes identifying discrepancies, communicating with customers and management, and filing appropriate reports with the Risk department. Associates use handheld scanners and other technology, follow store and safety procedures, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment. This is a full-time position paying $16.51 per hour. Monday-through-Friday availability is required, and the schedule may also include weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed. The position requires extended periods of standing and continuous walking, speaking, hearing, and use of hands and fingers.

Requirements

Ability to meet the position's physical requirements, including continuous walking, standing, speaking, hearing, and hand and finger use.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior retail store door attendant experience is a plus.
Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and thank them as they leave.
Answer questions, provide store and event information, direct customers to store areas, offer carts or hand baskets, and help manage customer flow.
Maintain a friendly, organized entrance and provide excellent customer service.
Check customer receipts against purchases when customers leave the store.
Refer merchandise that cannot be validated by a receipt to the point of sale for additional customer service.
Politely ask customers with no receipt or an invalid receipt to return to the store to be processed through the point of sale.
Identify discrepancies and communicate with customers and management to help resolve problems.
File appropriate reports with the Risk department.
Use handheld scanners, devices, computer programs, and Think Risk to monitor transactions or report incidents.
Observe people and identify suspicious behavior while maintaining a calm demeanor.
Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
Perform additional responsibilities as required.
