About The Position

The Associate Head Softball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the NCAA Division I Women’s Softball program. This role requires a dynamic and experienced leader who can provide high-level coaching, leadership, and mentoring to student-athletes while supporting the overall strategic direction and culture of the program. The Associate Head Coach will have significant responsibilities in practices and game preparation, working in particular with outfield, infield, and offense, recruiting, player development, game strategy, and program administration, and will act in the absence of the Head Coach when needed. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least three years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level, including demonstrated success in recruiting and developing top-level talent.
  • At least five years of fastpitch softball coaching experience.
  • Experience with organizing and conducting team practices, individual workouts, and competitive strategies.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations and commitment to compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and training methods.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to recruit and develop high-level student-athletes.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least seven years of fastpitch softball coaching experience.
  • Previous playing experience as a fastpitch softball athlete at Division I level or closely related experience.
  • Demonstrated success coaching infield/outfield and pitching.

Responsibilities
