About The Position

Village Christian School is seeking a Head Softball Coach who is responsible for organizing the program. This role involves conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques. The position requires a commitment to the school's mission and the ability to exemplify high Christian ideals.

Requirements

A High School Diploma degree is required.
Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
Possess knowledge in the sport, including, but not limited to strategy, skill building, practice and game planning
Communicate effectively and positively with students, parents, and other coaches
Work cooperatively with others as part of a team
Ability to exemplify high Christian ideals in a spirit of cooperativeness with integrity

Responsibilities

Instructs players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
Organizes and directs individual and team practices.
Assesses player’s skills, monitors players during competition and practice.
Determines game strategy.
Supervises athletes during practices and competition.
Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
Models positive sportsmanship and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.
Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.
