About The Position

Scoular is seeking motivated grain elevator operators to help create safe and reliable supply chain solutions for customers. This seasonal position lasts through February, and full-time placement may be considered depending on business needs. The starting hourly rate is $20 per hour.

The Associate Elevator Operator safely loads and unloads grain, assists with weighing and grading grain trucks, operates heavy equipment, manages grain storage, maintains clean storage areas, follows safety protocols, reports hazards, and performs general maintenance as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, subzero cold, and high winds.
• Comfort with climbing ladders, working at heights, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in environments with dust and airborne particles, including grain dust.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and safety footwear.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds multiple times per day and standing on hard surfaces for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a grain facility is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing grain.
• Assist with weighing and grading grain trucks.
• Operate heavy equipment, including loaders, skid steer loaders, track mobiles, and rail car movers.
• Manage grain storage by creating and moving grain piles.
• Clean and maintain bins and storage structures.
• Follow safety protocols and promptly report unsafe practices or hazards.
• Perform general maintenance tasks as needed to support operations.
