About The Position

Reporting to Repligen’s Sr. Director – Strategic Sourcing, this position requires a driven individual whose knowledge and skills will help us take our Strategic Sourcing team to the next level. This position is responsible for $100M+ Indirect spend, and all activities relative to adequate sourcing of Repligen’s good and services. Must have experience with Indirect spend categories, such as Logistics, IT / Software, and Professional Business Services. This position supports the entire Source to Contract process, including Sourcing engagements and provides core expertise for Contracting, Negotiation, Benchmarking, Supplier Performance Management, Financial Management, Relationship Management, and Risk Management lifecycles. In our diverse and vertically integrated manufacturing footprint, you will lead and support the development of strategies, processes, and talent to ensure the robustness of sourced materials and services and their timely procurement while fostering supplier partnerships that result in win-win total landed cost improvements. Responsible for Sourcing engagements while creating and driving collaboration with site procurement teams, and stakeholders, including finance, IT, HR, Legal, supply chain, manufacturing R&D, quality, warehousing, and product management, as well as external vendors to optimize value, savings, and cost avoidance. Leads and manages direct reports for Indirect Sourcing, responsible for overall performance of Indirect Sourcing to meet organization objectives. Supports the Sourcing lifecycle (Source to Contract) from stakeholder requirement definition, sourcing, competitive bidding and executing contracts. Develop, maintain, and execute on a three-year pipeline of savings and value plans in alignment with business and or corporate strategies that delivers sustainable procurement value and or productivity. Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Ensure that all relevant information is accurately communicated to suppliers and that deadlines are met. Evaluate responses to ensure they meet Repligen’s requirements and standards. Develop clear and comprehensive RFP and RFQ documents, including detailed specifications, requirements, and evaluation criteria. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all necessary information is included and accurately reflects project needs. Coordinate the RFP and RFQ process from start to finish, including setting timelines, communicating with suppliers, and managing any questions or clarifications that arise during the process. Ensure that all suppliers have a clear understanding of the requirements and expectations. Contribute to the supplier selection process by conducting comprehensive cost-benefit analyses, evaluating supplier proposals based on multiple criteria (e.g., cost, quality, delivery, compliance), and presenting recommendations to senior management. Support the onboarding of new suppliers to ensure a smooth transition. Negotiate agreements with delegated suppliers to promote guaranteed cost reductions through productivity improvements and reducing non-value elements in agreements. Responsible for the development of sourcing processes to organize and analyze spend data. Determine opportunities and priorities to leverage growth and volumes across all sites, product segments and implement contracts where appropriate. Along with the Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing builds and maintains multi-year support roadmaps for all key suppliers. Serve as a thought partner and actively challenge work to deploy the most comprehensive and creative solutions; remove barriers for team to ensure its ability to execute. Leads and tracks procurement performance against KPIs. Reports on KPI progress while also addressing opportunities for improvement and operational efficiencies. As a member of the Procurement Leadership Team, serves as the lead in the development and implementation of strategy, priorities, and goals/objectives related to procurement’s required infrastructure.

Requirements

  • B. S. degree or equivalent experience; degree in supply chain management/operations a plus.
  • 10+ years business experience
  • Excellent partnering and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of the true total cost of ownership impact of decisions and ability to build clear business cases to support the collective efforts required to achieve sourcing savings.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to set context, simplify complex concepts, and drive diverse teams to decision and action.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective prioritization skills in a fast-paced, team environment under time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with cross functional teams and drive appropriate actions.
  • Experience with Indirect spend categories, such as Logistics, IT / Software, and Professional Business Services.
