About The Position

RFG Advisory is an award-winning, fast-growing RIA platform for independent Financial Advisors. The Associate Director of Business Development is a front-line role responsible for filling the pipeline that fuels the company's growth. This role involves owning a defined book of outbound campaigns, channels, and target accounts within wealth management, conducting proactive outreach to source and qualify leads, and supporting the National Director on pull-through and closing activities. This is a relationship-driven, production-oriented role for individuals with prior experience in financial services business development, with potential for growth into a National Director position. The role is remote, with a hybrid option for candidates residing in Birmingham, AL.

Requirements

• Prior experience in outbound sales, business development, or a client-facing role within financial services; this is required and non-negotiable.
• Strong familiarity with broker-dealers, RIAs, and other distribution channels across the wealth management industry.
• A demonstrated track record with high-volume prospecting and cold calling.
• Proven ability to manage a full book of accounts and pipeline within a CRM; HubSpot experience is a plus.
• Experience working closely with marketing teams to facilitate and execute sales initiatives.
• Self-directed and comfortable owning a full book of business rather than working from a handed-down task list.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for Advisor-facing outreach, follow-up, and relationship development.
• Production-oriented mindset; measures success by pipeline contribution and qualified leads generated, not activity volume alone.
• Collaborative partner to marketing, RevOps, and the National Director without losing individual accountability for outcomes.
• Demonstrated interest in growing a long-term career in business development and relationship management within wealth management.
• Coachable and prepared; shows up to reviews with context, owns misses, and adjusts quickly.
• HubSpot CRM proficiency required or able to demonstrate rapid platform adoption.
• Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot to improve outreach quality, research efficiency, and workflow productivity.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AssetLink, Discovery Data, or comparable industry data platforms preferred.
• FINRA licensing (SIE, Series 7, Series 63/65/66) and other industry designations are a plus.
• AssetLink or comparable industry data platform experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run proactive, high-volume outbound prospecting and cold calling against a defined book of campaigns, channels, and target accounts within the wealth management space.
• Source and qualify a minimum of five qualified leads per month, through own outbound effort or by working leads generated through RFG marketing.
• Use AssetLink and similar industry data platforms to research prospects, verify Advisor and firm details, and sharpen outreach targeting.
• Identify and pursue new channels and distribution opportunities that expand RFG's reach within broker-dealers, RIAs, and other wealth management segments.
• In coordination with the National Director, assist with pull-through activity on RFG-sourced deals, including scheduling demos, preparing follow-up materials, and keeping opportunities moving toward close.
• Serve as a reliable execution partner on active opportunities, ensuring no deal stalls for lack of follow-through or coordination.
• Build relationships with prospective Advisors that hold up through the full sales cycle, not just initial outreach.
• Maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date records in HubSpot across full book of outbound activity and pipeline.
• Come prepared to weekly 1:1 reviews with a clear read on what's working, what isn't, and what you're doing about it.
• Take ownership of numbers, as the role is measured by qualified leads generated, pull-through activity, and pipeline contribution.
• Work closely with marketing and RevOps in the creation, execution, and assessment of outreach initiatives and sales campaigns.
• Provide field intelligence from prospecting activity that improves targeting, messaging, and campaign performance over time.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to increase the efficiency, quality, and consistency of outreach and follow-up.
