About The Position

The Associate Director of Market Insights will be responsible for the development and execution of primary and secondary market research plans to support the US TTR commercial priorities across patient audiences. This individual will work in close collaboration with the US Commercial Team, Business and Competitive Intelligence, Data and Analytics, Global Market Insights, Legal, Finance and Compliance. The geographical location for this role is flexible, but preference for hybrid status based in Cambridge, US and reports to the Senior Director, Global Market Research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of marketing or market research, minimum of 5 years market research experience in pharma/biotech
  • Mastery level in the full range of market research methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical details to technical and non-technical resources.
  • Ability to interact and influence effectively with people at all levels and functions across the business.
  • US and Global experience
  • Compliance & Best Practices expertise

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Post-graduate degree preferred
  • Experience in rare disease areas desired, and multiple therapeutic areas

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure key business questions are identified
  • Develop the annual market research plan that will meet the needs of the business to address key business questions
  • Design, execute and communicate robust qualitative and quantitative market research projects to generate actionable insights that address key business questions and advanced business understanding and strategic thinking
  • Partner with other business partners generating customer insights to synthesize learnings and generate insights that provide a more holistic understanding of the market
  • Provide key insights to help shape the Global and US Situational Assessments as part of the Brand Planning cycle
  • Identify and pilot innovative market research methodologies
  • Partner with other CX&I teams (and others as needed) to integrate secondary data and advanced analytics data in addressing key business questions.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget, including making tradeoff decisions to ensure business needs are met
  • Ensure compliance with codes of conduct and Alnylam’s internal policies, including pharmacovigilance
  • Begins to take ownership of segments of the strategy (e.g., target customer group like HCP or patient).
  • Balances big-picture thinking with tactical guidance
  • Able to align diverse teams around shared goals and priorities.
  • Ensures customer insights are used appropriately (i.e. caveats and nuances are understood)
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to other team members.
  • Delegates tasks effectively while ensuring accountability.
  • Regularly interacts with higher-level stakeholders internally (Sr Dir and VP-level) as a thought partner to ensure key insights are integrated into business decisions
  • Builds credibility by deep understanding of insights and market knowledge for the broader brand (not just their area of focus)
  • Makes informed decisions in situations with incomplete or uncertain data.
  • Focuses on outcomes while anticipating risks and opportunities.
