The Associate Auction Coordinator represents Auction.com at live real estate auctions, traditionally held at courthouse steps. The role involves conducting, co-hosting, and participating in auctions; welcoming and assisting bidders; completing required pre-auction and event processes; and educating customers about how to participate in auctions and available Auction.com programs and resources. The territory is Williamsburg/Newport News, Virginia, with travel to surrounding county courthouse auctions as needed, potentially up to two hours away. A rental car is provided for travel outside the primary territory; regular travel to event locations in a personal vehicle is also required. An area/state manager assigns daily auctions based on scheduling needs, so the schedule must be flexible. Auctions take place Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each auction day generally involves three to four hours of work. The position averages six to ten hours per week, with fluctuating, nonguaranteed hours. Required in-person and Zoom training, team calls, and other development opportunities are also part of the role and may provide additional compensation. The position requires customer service in a fast-paced auction environment, accurate collection and entry of sensitive buyer and seller information, and the ability to multitask. Coordinators maintain professional relationships with customers and on-site staff, manage equipment and materials, handle customer information and receipts, and complete event reports. The role also includes handling funds, including cash, and participating in scheduled training and team calls.
