About The Position

The Associate Auction Coordinator represents Auction.com at live real estate auctions, traditionally held at courthouse steps. The role involves conducting, co-hosting, or otherwise participating in auctions; interacting with bidders; and completing the tasks and processes needed for successful events. The coordinator also educates customers on how to participate in auctions and helps provide a positive auction experience. The territory is Roanoke, Virginia, with travel of up to two hours to courthouse auctions in surrounding areas as needed. A rental car is provided for travel outside the primary territory. An Area/State Manager assigns daily auctions according to scheduling needs, so the position requires a flexible schedule. Auctions are held Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Each auction day usually involves three to four hours of work. The position averages six to ten hours per week, with fluctuating, non-guaranteed hours. Required in-person and Zoom training, team calls, and other development opportunities may offer additional compensation. This part-time role requires welcoming attendees, collecting and accurately entering sensitive customer information, providing customer service, handling funds, and completing auction-related documentation. Coordinators maintain professionalism with customers and on-site staff, maintain equipment and materials, communicate Auction.com programs and resources, and participate in training and team calls. The position involves working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, standing for extended periods and working in all weather conditions.
