About The Position

Carrell Blanton Ferris and Associates, PLC is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience in legal practice, and estate planning experience preferred, to join their Richmond office. This role offers the opportunity to deepen experience in estate planning and administration while working alongside experienced attorneys who are invested in the attorney's development. The position is part of a team that values thoughtful client relationships, strong communication, and long-term success. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in legal practice
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Virginia Bar membership or pending admission
  • Genuine interest in estate planning and client-focused legal work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Willingness to grow, accept feedback, and pursue excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Estate planning experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Familiarity with WealthDocs or similar drafting software

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in delivering comprehensive trust and estate planning services
  • Prepare legal documents and assist with client signings
  • Communicate directly with clients and support their long-term planning goals
  • Participate in seminars and community education workshops
  • Continue developing your skills within a structured, supportive environment
