Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Admission to the bar in Maryland
• Interest or coursework in estate planning, trusts or taxation
• Strong legal writing, analytic and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters

Nice To Haves

• Prior internships, clinics or clerkships in trusts and estates or tax law are a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents
• Assist in developing estate plans tailored to client goals, tax considerations and family circumstances
• Conduct legal research on estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues
• Participate in client meetings and help maintain strong client relationships
• Manage timelines, deadlines and document preparation with attention to detail
• Maintain accurate and organized client files
