About The Position

Aspen Careers is partnering with a respected and expanding estate planning and elder law firm to identify an Associate Attorney serving the Athens, Ohio / West Virginia market. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to build a meaningful practice helping individuals and families plan for their futures. The firm is open to attorneys currently licensed in Ohio who are willing to obtain their West Virginia license, with support from the firm throughout that process. The firm is a growing, mission-driven estate planning and elder law firm serving clients throughout Ohio and expanding its presence in West Virginia. Focused on helping families protect their assets, plan for the future, and preserve their legacies. Known for a collaborative, supportive environment centered around exceptional client service. Invests significantly in attorney training, mentorship, and long-term professional development. Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
  • Willingness to obtain a West Virginia law license (firm will assist with the process).
  • Approximately 1–5 years of attorney experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Motivated to learn and grow within a specialized estate planning and elder law practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Attorneys already licensed in both Ohio and West Virginia.
  • Estate Planning experience.
  • Backgrounds in Family Law, Personal Injury, Probate, Criminal Defense, or other client-facing practice areas.
  • Enjoys meeting with clients, building trust, and guiding individuals through important legal and financial decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build a client-focused practice serving individuals and families with estate planning, probate, and elder law needs.
  • Transition from litigation-heavy practice into a more consultative, relationship-driven area of law.
  • Explain legal services and help prospective clients determine the appropriate path forward.
