About The Position

The firm is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its consumer protection practice in Michigan. The role involves a broad range of legal issues, including transactional and civil litigation matters, and requires managing a heavy workload. The attorney will work from home and communicate with the firm's New York headquarters exclusively by telephone and electronic means, such as email and Microsoft Teams. Candidates must live in or within commuting distance of Metro Detroit, Michigan, and must travel for court appearances.

Requirements

• Currently admitted to practice law in Michigan.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels.
• Strong legal research skills.
• Must be located in or within commuting distance of Metro Detroit, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of the firm's Michigan clients.
• Communicate with clients about their matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
• Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• Travel to court appearances.
