About The Position

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is hiring a Dock Checker for its Detroit-area warehouse facilities. The role sorts, scans, and puts away non-damaged products in the warehouse, ensuring work is completed accurately, safely, and on time. The employee may also assist on the returns dock and perform light janitorial work as needed.

This active warehouse position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, lifting, stacking, moving, and rotating items. The employee operates warehouse equipment and regularly reads, writes, and communicates in English. The work environment includes moving mechanical parts and vibration, and noise levels may be loud.

The full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:00 AM and continuing until the job is finished. Occasional Saturdays may be required based on holiday schedules and business needs. Pay is $18.00 per hour. Employment offers are conditional on satisfactory pre-employment screenings, including a criminal background check, physical evaluation, agility (lift) test, and drug screen. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to remain active and on one's feet for an entire shift.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 55 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and climbing.
• Ability to regularly read, write, and communicate in English.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment screenings, including a criminal background check, physical evaluation, agility (lift) test, and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Hi-Lo or pallet jack experience; the employer is willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Sort, scan, and put away non-damaged products accurately, safely, and efficiently.
