About The Position
Morrison Mahoney LLP is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves civil litigation, specifically handling the defense of Automobile and Premises Liability matters. The firm offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive environment, and a competitive salary range of $150,000-$180,000. The position requires the ability to manage cases from inception through resolution, including taking and defending depositions, preparing and filing dispositive motions, prior ADR experience, and preparing status reports for insurers.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- At least 5 years of experience handling the defense of Automobile and Premises Liability cases in the State of New York
- Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions
- Ability to perform legal research
- Ability to respond to discovery requests
- Ability to prepare comprehensive written status reports for insurers
- Previous experience taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions independently
- Prior ADR experience handling arbitrations and mediations
Responsibilities
- Manage cases from inception through resolution
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare and file dispositive motions
- Handle arbitrations and mediations
- Prepare comprehensive status reports for insurers
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
- Ensure compliance with all court deadlines and scheduling requirements
- Work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop and execute effective litigation strategies
- Provide clear and consistent client communication, including regular updates and comprehensive written status reports
- Conduct in-depth legal research
- Prepare strategic memoranda
- Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management
