About The Position

Miller, Leiby & Associates, P.C. is a well-established New York law firm with offices in Manhattan's Financial District. Its insurance defense practice represents insureds and self-insured entities in premises liability and automobile defense matters. The firm is seeking an experienced litigator to manage a defense caseload with substantial ownership and independence.

The Associate Attorney will manage cases from start to finish, make strategic decisions, and communicate directly with clients and insurance carriers. The work includes drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, representing clients at mediations and settlement conferences, and handling appeals.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
• At least two years of experience defending premises liability cases, automobile bodily injury cases, or both.
• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Confidence in the courtroom and comfort working with clients and adjusters.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of defense cases from start to finish with a high degree of autonomy.
• Communicate regularly and directly with clients and insurance carriers.
