About The Position

The Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager helps customers make healthy choices by delivering excellent service and assisting with the leadership and management of the Vitamin/HBA department. The role supports department merchandising and productivity, ordering and inventory controls, product quality, team supervision, and coordination of production, merchandising, and sales. The manager helps ensure customers receive informed assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products, offering guidance without prescribing. The role also supports recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, and motivating team members, handles store deliveries, and helps ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation requirements.

The position is in a fast-paced grocery retail environment and involves maintaining product knowledge, housekeeping, and customer service. It requires flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and moving products and equipment. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependability and reliability, with the ability to work a changing flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills and ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
• Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Willingness to gain education on new products and alternative health.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for a distance of up to 2 feet without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to move a ladder using up to 5 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and up to 25 feet.
• Ability to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and up to 20 feet.
• Ability to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Handle ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Help lead the team in delivering high-quality products, service, and customer experiences.
• Provide customers with service and assistance regarding vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of department products and provide guidance without prescribing.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
• Unload and sort store deliveries.
• Ensure company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations are followed by the department team.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department, including cleaning and dusting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
