About The Position

The Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager helps customers make healthy choices by providing excellent service and assisting with the management and leadership of the Vitamin/HBA team. The role supports department merchandising and operations to maximize productivity and profit, including ordering, inventory control, product quality, and team supervision. It coordinates production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. The position helps ensure customers receive knowledgeable assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products, while providing product guidance without prescribing. It also supports recruiting, hiring, development, mentoring, and motivation of the team; unloading and sorting deliveries; and ensuring that company health, safety, and sanitation procedures are followed. The role may include other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have at least 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing, flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude, with the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Have strong organization and prioritization skills.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
Be able to lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for distances up to 2 feet, without mechanical assistance.
Be able to move a ladder using up to 5 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and distances up to 25 feet.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds, requiring up to 35 pounds of force, for up to 2 hours and distances up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles in an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Assist with managing and merchandising the department to maximize productivity and profit.
Support ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team.
Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Help lead the team in delivering quality products, service, and customer experiences.
Provide customer service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products.
Maintain knowledge of department products and guide customers without prescribing.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
Unload and sort store deliveries.
Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations, and help ensure team members follow procedures.
Perform general department housekeeping, including cleaning and dusting.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
