About The Position

The Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager helps customers make healthy choices by providing excellent customer service while assisting with the management and leadership of the Vitamin/HBA team. The role supports department merchandising and operations to promote productivity and profitability, and helps ensure customers receive knowledgeable assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products. Product guidance should help customers understand wellness options without prescribing. The position also supports ordering, inventory control, product quality, team development, and the coordination of production, merchandising, and sales. The Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager helps ensure compliance with company health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines, and performs department housekeeping and related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have at least 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude, with the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Have strong organization and prioritization skills.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday and lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds from 4 to 72 inches, for a distance of up to 2 feet, without mechanical assistance.
Be able to move a ladder using force up to 5 pounds, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 25 feet.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 pounds and requiring force up to 35 pounds, for up to 2 hours and a distance of up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Assist with managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
Handle ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team.
Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Help lead the team in delivering quality products, service, and customer experiences.
Provide customers with service and assistance related to vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products, without prescribing.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body products and provide guidance on related products.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
Unload and sort store deliveries.
Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations, and confirm team members follow these procedures.
Perform department housekeeping, including cleaning and dusting.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
