About The Position

The Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager helps customers make healthy choices by providing excellent service and assisting with the management and merchandising of the Vitamin/HBA department. The role supports department productivity and profitability, ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team. It coordinates production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.

The position helps customers understand vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products, offering product guidance without prescribing. It also supports recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating team members; unloads and sorts store deliveries; and helps ensure compliance with company health, safety, and sanitation procedures. The role involves general department housekeeping and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have at least 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude, with the ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
• Have strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday and lift, stack, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs. from 4 to 72 inches, for up to 2 feet without mechanical assistance.
• Be able to move a ladder using a force of up to 5 lbs. for up to 2 hours and up to 25 feet.
• Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. using a force of up to 35 lbs. for up to 2 hours and up to 20 feet.
• Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing and merchandising the department to maximize productivity and profit.
• Support ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Help lead the team in delivering quality products, high service levels, and a positive customer experience.
• Assist customers with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products, helping them understand relevant health and wellness products without prescribing.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body products and provide product guidance.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
• Unload and sort store deliveries.
• Ensure company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations are followed, and verify that team members understand and follow procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department, including cleaning and dusting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
