About The Position

As a part-time Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will work alongside the Master Teacher to support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. You will help create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore. The role includes assisting with age-appropriate lessons and activities, engaging with children throughout the day, supporting classroom safety and organization, communicating with families, and helping maintain classroom documentation.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.

Nice To Haves

• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare center.

Responsibilities

• Support the Master Teacher in delivering age-appropriate classroom lessons and activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation, including attendance and daily reports.
