Teacher Assistant Part-Time
About The Position
Chambliss Center for Children is hiring caring and energetic Teacher Assistants for a childcare program located inside Hamilton County Schools at East Side Elementary. The classrooms serve children from infants to Pre-K and provide onsite childcare to school staff with young children. This is a part-time, mid-day position with a “Parent” schedule: Monday through Friday, either 10 a.m.–2 p.m. or 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Employees have summers, holidays, and school breaks off. Starting pay is from $11 per hour for candidates with a high school diploma and limited experience, with starting pay increasing based on education and classroom experience.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check.
- Must be available Monday through Friday, either 10 a.m.–2 p.m. or 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Team player with a love for working with children and families.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children during all activities.
- Help plan and lead fun, learning-based activities.
- Keep the classroom clean and organized.
- Work closely with other staff, parents, and volunteers.
- Watch for children’s health needs and respond appropriately.
