About The Position

As an Assistant Store Team Leader, you support the Store Team Leader in running the store’s day-to-day operations. You lead by example, provide exceptional neighborly service, and help create a fun, engaging, pet-centric environment where pets and people thrive. The role includes supporting store performance, developing team members, maintaining a clean and safe store, and building relationships in the community.

Requirements

At least 2 years of retail or customer-facing leadership experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Ability to operate store equipment as needed.
Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible schedules.
Must be at least 18 years old and able to meet hiring requirements set by the local franchise owner.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support and lead the team by example while delivering exceptional, neighborly service.
Greet neighbors and their pets and create a welcoming in-store experience.
Help customers choose products that meet their pets’ needs.
Support store performance, including sales, engagement, and productivity.
Help analyze results and partner with leadership on plans to improve performance.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing team members.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-run store, including animal care and safety.
Build community relationships and support local events and partnerships.
Help create a fun, positive culture where pets and people feel at home.
