About The Position

Magoo’s Pet Outlet is a family-owned, high-volume wholesale and discount pet supply store that has served Michigan communities for over 40 years. The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, lead the team, and manage heavy inventory turnover. This is an active, fast-paced leadership role focused on maintaining a well-run, efficiently stocked sales floor and motivating an operational team. The position is full-time, 30–40 hours per week, and requires flexible availability.

Requirements

• Prior retail or warehouse-retail experience.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for full shifts and regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds of bulk pet product.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Leadership experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in coaching, training, and motivating staff to meet sales goals and maintain store standards.
• Oversee high-volume stock placement, bulk inventory control, and promotional pricing accuracy.
• Maintain an organized sales floor, assist with high-traffic customer service, and resolve urgent operational issues.

Benefits

• Starting pay of $14.00 per hour, increasing to $15.00 per hour after onboarding and up to $16.00 per hour within 90 days.
