About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the efficient and successful operation of the store. This role helps create a positive, productive work environment and maintain a high level of customer service. The Assistant Store Manager is a motivated, accountable, customer-oriented retail leader who promotes teamwork and open communication in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates Oniverse’s values: Open Minded, Authentic, Passionate, Dynamic, Team Player, and Pragmatic. The role contributes to sales performance, team training and development, daily store operations, visual merchandising, inventory management, and store cleanliness. The Assistant Store Manager works closely with the Store Manager, store team, and corporate teams to deliver a quality guest experience and achieve commercial goals. Based on experience and performance, the Assistant Store Manager may be selected to support new store openings across the United States.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
Enjoys working with a team to achieve store goals and building connections with guests.
Able to lift more than 20 pounds; stand for long periods; bend and stretch; perform repetitive motions; push, pull, and carry items for short distances; and climb a ladder or use a step stool.
At least 1–2 years of experience in retail and customer service.

Responsibilities

Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional events to drive customer traffic and brand awareness.
Update the Store Manager on store performance, sales figures, and customer feedback, and collaborate with store and corporate teams on improvements.
Follow company and department policies and procedures consistently and effectively.
Lead by example and coach the team to provide outstanding customer service.
Collaborate with the Store Manager to set store sales targets and participate in achieving them.
Monitor sales performance and key performance indicators, and take action to drive sales and revenue.
Use retail training materials in line with company and brand strategies.
Ensure team members participate in shift-start and end-of-day chat-ins.
Delegate tasks according to team members’ knowledge and skill sets.
Assist the Store Manager with training and developing the team in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
Conduct coaching sessions and provide performance feedback to support team members’ professional growth.
Help oversee daily operations, including opening and closing, cash handling, and store facilities.
Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Support visual merchandising standards and participate in layout changes and seasonal updates.
Assist with inventory management, including replenishment, stockroom organization, and stock checks; help maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
Help maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the sales floor, fitting rooms, cash desk, and backroom areas, including bathrooms and stockrooms.
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including cleaning shelves, fixtures, doors, windows, mirrors, and shared areas; emptying trash; sweeping and mopping; and sanitizing sinks, counters, and equipment.
Liaise between Sales Leads, Sales Ambassadors, and store management to support high-quality customer service, efficient operations, sales strategies, and commercial goals.
Train Sales Leads and Sales Ambassadors, potentially including cross-department functions.
Potentially support new store openings across the United States based on experience and performance.
Participate in nationwide contests with other Oniverse locations.
