About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with daily retail store operations to support sales and profitability. The role covers merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, training and development, human resources activities, operational compliance, and customer service. The Assistant Store Manager helps lead store staff, uphold company policies and standards, and support the store’s performance goals. The position may involve work at multiple stores in the assigned district and requires a flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel.

Requirements

• At least one year of retail management experience.
• Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive or confidential situations.
• Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations.
• Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
• Results-driven, with critical and creative thinking skills; project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
• Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.
• Flexible availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays; the standard work week is not to exceed 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in daily store operations and in achieving sales and profitability goals.
• Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
• Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
• Assist with and provide feedback to the Store Manager on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
• Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores perform within budget.
• Help monitor and identify potential store losses or inventory inconsistencies and support shrink goals at or below company plan.
• Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
• Support employee training in suggested-selling and merchandising techniques.
• Uphold customer service standards by providing a friendly environment and outstanding service.
• Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
