About The Position

Roark is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with and support the Store Manager in all aspects of store business operations. The role helps manage the guest experience, operations, customer flow, staff, and floor inventory, while inspiring and leading the floor team to provide welcoming, helpful, and superior customer service. The Assistant Store Manager is expected to lead by example, solve problems creatively, act entrepreneurially, and hold themselves and the team accountable for a successful store environment. The Assistant Store Manager supports sales and operational performance, product flow and back-of-house operations, visual merchandising, product expertise, and cashwrap and POS procedures. The role also partners with the Store Manager on recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, performance check-ins, and employee development. The position collaborates on store events and local partnerships, and helps improve the customer-service approach and build customer loyalty and community. Compensation is hourly, based on experience, and includes benefits. The stated hourly rate range is $24.00–$28.00.

Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager with growing revenue through a premium guest experience, employee relations, and operations aligned with Roark culture and retail operating principles.
Support the Store Manager in meeting or exceeding the financial plan, including revenue, payroll budget, and overall store P&L.
Manage and execute product flow, restocking, back-of-house operations, supply needs, and daily store maintenance as directed by the Store Manager.
Uphold visual merchandising directives and maintain visual standards and brand image daily.
Develop expertise in Roark products, understand customer needs, share product knowledge, and guide customers to suitable product selections.
Oversee cashwrap and POS procedures, including accurately reconciling tills and processing returns, exchanges, gift cards, and discounts.
Partner with the Store Manager in supervising the team, including recruiting, hiring, training, and career development.
Support the Typical Week structure and facilitate daily scheduling and zoning.
Motivate and inspire staff, and lead by example on the sales floor.
Maintain a leadership presence and project a credible, confident image.
Share product and customer-care knowledge with staff and coach them on product and selling techniques to foster productivity.
Assist with staff performance check-ins in accordance with the corporate calendar.
Develop talent and dedicate time to training and mentoring others.
Collaborate on, promote, and attend store events unless otherwise approved by the manager.
Help identify local collaborations with relevant brands, artists, musicians, and athletes to promote the flagship location.
Assist the Store Manager in leading the sales team to provide excellent customer service and build customer loyalty and community.
Help improve the company’s sales and customer-service approach through ongoing practical and process improvements.
Help create a unique and interesting retail store that reflects Roark’s identity.
