About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager oversees daily retail operations, ensures high standards of helpful customer service, and directs projects and responsibilities assigned or delegated by the Store Manager. The role supports store management, personnel training and supervision, inventory management, sales and productivity goals, store safety, merchandising, and customer issue resolution. The Assistant Store Manager may fill in for the Store Manager as needed and takes on other responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

Open and close the store.
Handle assigned safety and security responsibilities.
Maintain knowledge of store policies, procedures, and goals, as well as management responsibilities; fill in for the Store Manager as needed.
Oversee tasks assigned and delegated to store team members.
Train store personnel and supervise in-store staff to support strong performance and customer service.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory; oversee inventory order placement, receiving, and stocking.
Maintain general housekeeping and keep the store safe for team members and customers.
Shop the competition monthly.
Participate in and sometimes lead monthly store meetings, and attend and assist with mandatory monthly meetings.
Achieve sales and productivity goals established by the Store Manager, including maintaining acceptable gross margin levels.
Maintain store equipment and fixtures in safe working condition.
Set a positive example by following company procedures.
Develop promotions to increase store traffic.
Ensure end-caps, cross-merchandising, and feature displays are properly merchandised and maintained.
Provide helpful customer service by greeting and assisting customers on the sales floor.
Resolve customer claims and complaints promptly, courteously, and discreetly.
Authorize refunds in accordance with company policy.
Process weekly hot sheets and price adjustments, ensuring store bin tagging is completed on time.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager.
