About The Position
JD Finish Line is hiring management team members for its Macy's store at La Cumbre Plaza in Santa Barbara, California. Management team members oversee daily store operations, develop and motivate employees, deliver excellent customer experiences, and support store sales and profitability. The role includes responsibility for merchandise and inventory management, store presentation and maintenance, budgets and expenses, local marketing, community relationships, and operational improvements. Additional duties and projects may be assigned. Employees may be asked to work at other company locations based on operational needs and career growth.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a retail store manager or in a similar role, with a record of achieving sales targets and managing a team.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Passion for customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
- Ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in retail management software and basic computer applications.
- Open availability or availability sufficient to open and close the store, including mornings, days, and nights.
- Assistant Store Manager: minimum standard work week of 5 days and an average standard work week of 44 hours, with increased hours during peak sales periods.
- Supervisor: availability for a minimum of 5 days and a minimum standard work week of 30 hours.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Punctuality and regular attendance consistent with company policies.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak English clearly to communicate with customers and supervise staff, and to read and write English and perform business-related mathematics.
- May need to relocate to different company locations based on operational needs and career growth.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Two or more years of retail leadership experience, strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and develop a motivated team; foster a positive work environment, set goals, and provide ongoing feedback.
- Deliver an exceptional shopping experience by addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and maintaining high customer-service standards.
- Drive sales and profitability through merchandise management, promotional strategies, and achievement of sales targets.
- Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Manage store budgets, control expenses, and analyze sales data to improve performance and revenue.
- Implement local marketing initiatives and build community relationships to strengthen brand presence and attract customers.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
- Perform additional duties and projects as required.
