About The Position

The Assistant Service Manager supports daily service operations at Pinnacle Trailer Sales, Inc. by coordinating trailer check-ins, assisting with repairs, and maintaining communication between departments and customers. The role helps ensure workflow continuity and customer satisfaction and assumes responsibility for service operations when the Service Manager is absent. Duties also include managing work orders, quotes, invoices, trailer inventory and customer follow-up.

Requirements

Strong understanding of service operations and procedures.
Strong communication skills.
Equipment maintenance skills.
Sufficient computer skills and ability to learn various software functions.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous mechanical technician experience.
Ability to lift 75–100 pounds unassisted.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Check in incoming trailers, take photos, and log stock details via email.
Inspect trailers for needed repairs and communicate findings.
Generate invoices, close purchase orders, and follow up on outstanding balances.
Assist the parts department with accurate quotes and follow up on service-related part orders.
Create and manage work orders for customers and stock trailers, including service customers, PTs, and PLs using CDK and S.O.D.
Collect service customer information.
Quote trailer repairs and invoice trailer work.
Communicate trailer status clearly and courteously to service customers, and follow up after service work is complete and the trailer has been picked up.
Keep trailers on the lot organized and in designated locations; update the trailer inventory board daily.
Tag trailers with the appropriate color tags.
Lock all gates.
Assist as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
