Assistant Service Manager
About The Position
Morgan Properties is hiring a hands-on maintenance leader for Cranbury Crossing, a 160-unit community in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The Assistant Service Manager partners with the Property Manager and Service Manager to coordinate maintenance work, lead repairs, inspect completed work, and help keep the property clean, safe, and well maintained. The role includes participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation and availability for emergencies such as snow and ice. The position pays $24.00–$31.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Morgan Properties offers a $300 Morgan Essentials payment quarterly, full benefits, and opportunities for career growth.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in the same or a similar field.
Nice To Haves
- CPO, HVAC, or related certifications are preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Property Manager and Service Manager to schedule make-ready work for vacant units and build a daily production schedule.
- Lead the team in diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliance issues.
- Complete work orders within 24 hours and perform high-level repairs when needed.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets Morgan standards.
- Walk the grounds and common areas, including conducting weekly light inspections, to keep the property clean, safe, and well lit.
- Help create preventative maintenance, make-ready, and on-call schedules.
- Participate in the 24-hour on-call rotation and be available for emergencies such as snow and ice.
